“Equal prize money, is that enough?” a conversation about equality and the progression of female snowboarding.
Female snowboarding has reached a skill level that many of the athletes themselves never imagined would be possible. But, why not? A lot has changed in the last 15 years when it comes to gender equality in snowboarding, and one of the most visible achievements is the equal prize money in most of the competitions. But are we able to talk about equality yet? Besides the competitive equal prizes, what else is needed to ensure female snowboarding keeps progressing and that the talent pool keeps growing, but also the industry behind it in both consumers and industry professionals.
Laax will host a panel discussion about these topics moderated by the action sports media specialist and Women in Action Sports Network Founder Alba Pardo. Satu Järvelä, former professional snowboarder and President of the World Snowboard Federationwill join the conversation amongst other industry heavyweights.
